Elevation data: Terrain Tiles (Mapzen/Tilezen), obtained from the AWS elevation-tiles-prod collection in Skadi format. The collection combines several elevation models depending on the area; the provider lists EU-DEM for Europe, including Germany. Skadi is a file format, not a statement that SRTM is the only source.
EU-DEM: Produced using Copernicus data and information funded by the European Union - EU-DEM layers.

We derive gradients, elevation profiles, hillshading and contour lines from these data; elevations are smoothed during graph import and for contour lines, and resampled for display. The Skadi grid spacing is one arcsecond (about 30 metres north to south). Accuracy depends on the source and processing; elevations are an approximation, not a survey.
Place search: Nominatim (GPL-2.0 and GPL-3.0), operated on our own server with the same OpenStreetMap extract.
Software on our servers: GraphHopper (Apache-2.0), tilemaker (FTWPL), tileserver-gl (BSD-2-Clause), FastAPI (MIT), PostgreSQL and PostGIS, CIB seven (Apache-2.0). These programs run on our side; we do not distribute them.
Software you receive: The web interface and the app contain third-party libraries — among them MapLibre GL (BSD-3-Clause), Leaflet (BSD-2-Clause), React (MIT), Ktor and kotlinx (Apache-2.0), AndroidX and Jetpack Compose (Apache-2.0) — as well as the Noto Sans typeface (SIL Open Font License) and the VersaTiles Colorful map style (Unlicense). Which ones exactly, with version, full licence text and copyright notice, is listed in the inventory of software included: in the web interface under Legal → Licences, in the app in the same place. The inventory is generated at every build from that build's dependency list and describes exactly the version you are using.
Our own values from OpenStreetMap: from the OSM data we compute our own environment values (noise, forest, settlement) and a scoring of points of interest. We treat these as a derivative database under the ODbL and meet its section 4.6b by disclosing the method rather than the data: the document "How we derive data from OpenStreetMap", which you will find in the interface under "Legal". For the same reason there is no bulk download of generated routes, and GPX export requires an account and is capped per account and day: a single route is an insubstantial extract, mass export would be a database again.
